I have an almost 40 year old truck, foreign model to be more specific. It’s just not easy by any means to find parts for my old goat as they do not make them anymore and have not made them brand new in probably over 20 years. I can work on vehicle have done many things to my own jeep. But i do not know how to assess problems. Replacing parts is no issue for me. So i Told gordos i had 2500 to spend cause im makeing a long trip, and they did a thorough inspection and my bill came to a hundred dollars. Know extra fees like rockport auto shop, and they didnt try to milk me for that 2500$. Im am very pleased with gordos plus they have vetrans working there so i will go know where else but gordos and would advise you to do the same. See more See less

With the recent flood here in Rockport, my vehicle was making unfamiliar noises. I stopped at O'Reilly's had a quick diagnostic test on my vehicle and the sweet manager sent me to see Jimmy at Gordo's. Jimmy test drove my vehicle, called me to informed me what needed immediate repairs. I order the parts, and 3 days later my vehicle is fixed. This place is welcoming, upfront, super busy, and yet kept me informed everyday about the status on my vehicle. This place got me squared away quick and a lot cheaper than I was expecting! I had picked up a large screw in my rear tire. Called the shop late on Friday for help on diagnosing and repairing the water pump or alternator on our 2014 Honda CRV. They said they were open Saturday so I started to take our car in early in the morning. Car noise was so bad when I started the car that I knew it wasn't safe to drive. I called the shop and spoke with Jimmie, the manager, who said he would get a tow truck out to us right away. Once the car got delivered to the shop, it was too late to get the repairs started. Monday morning, the shop called with a diagnosis (bad water pump) and cost estimate. I explained that we had to rent a car and would appreciate them expediting the work. Despite the mechanic be called out on a roadside emergency, they were able to install new water pump along with rotating our tires and changing the oil by the end of the day saving us the cost of extending our car rental another day. We were very appreciative of how they went above and beyond to get the work done. Jimmie was very professional and courteous as was the rest of his staff, and the total cost for the work performed was very reasonable. See more See less

Good little tire shop from my experience. Had a small tire off a cart and needed it mounted on a wheel. Stopped in and the guy got right on it, mounted it and said "no charge". I did give him a 'gratuity' and will definitely be back when I have another tire issue. See more See less

Wow just wow on this place. My car went into 'limp to the mechanic' low power mode. I was thinking I'd have a $1k repair bill or worse. I went to Gordo's because it was literally the closest shop but really glad I did. When I pulled up the mechanic was walking over to me before I got out of my car. I told him what was going on and without me saying a word he was pulling codes and looking under the driver's side dash. He figured out two switches on the brake lever were broken. One controlled the brake lights - broken they were always on which drained the battery. Which led to a bunch of low voltage codes causing the car to go into 'limp' mode. He Macgivered it on the spot to return it to working normally - NO CHARGE! It's since been fixed correctly when the parts came in but wow. Will be coming here again when I need to. See more See less

I needed to stop in here to get some air for my 38' motor home. They were nice enough to guide me into their place, check all the tires and didn't charge me anything even though they had to bend one of their tools in order to be able to check a oddly placed valve stem on one of my rims. I was in town for a quick visit, and my Dodge Grand Caravan gave a problem with a strange warning light coming on and car started malfunctioning. From the secretary to the mechanics in the shop. This place is awesome. I took My 2008 f450 in for an alignment and Justin found that I needed a few new parts before he could do the alignment. The shop manager Jimmy ordered the parts and they were deliverer the next day. I was a little stressed about the way my truck was handling so I called Josie in the front office a few times and she was very good at dealing with my stress and was professional about it. I could not leave my truck as it's my only vehicle, and the guys in the shop didn't mind me hanging out to watch the work being done on the truck. Everyone was understanding and Justin explained what he was doing every step of the way, even though he didn't have to because technically I shouldn't have been there.
